Cody and Shannon got married at the Hawk’s Nest Wedding and Events on a beautiful October Saturday. I’ve actually known Cody since elementary school and I’ve gotten to know Shannon through their long engagement; it was a treat to photograph their engagement session as well as capture their wedding day! The couple intentionally wanted a simple day that highlighted the most important people in their lives. Although the couple purposely planned a laid-back and “simple” wedding day, everything was still well thought-out! All the details, vendors, and small touches made a big impact – I was thrilled to see everything come together on the big day!

I’ve been privileged to work at the Hawk’s Nest in the spring, summer, and now the fall season! I really enjoy working at this venue because it embodies a Kentucky wedding with a big white barn, large flat fields (EPIC for sunsets!!), and a gorgeous long driveway lined with tall trees. Not to mention Ally and her staff are always so great to work with!! Cody and Shannon chose to do an intimate First Look (just wait until you see the sweet photos) which allowed for multiple portrait opportunities throughout the day. We took full advantage of the sunshine and fall colors which made for some absolutely stunning Golden Hour portraits! I’m thankful to Cody and Shannon for trusting me as their photographer and being so willing to take photos multiple times during their wedding day.
